Homebrew Competition

We are excited to hold our 2nd Annual Homebrew Competition.  This is a completely hedonistic competition, meaning the winner will be the best crafted, most enjoyable beer as decided by the judges.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of brewers, brewery owners and craft beer lovers.  Awards celebration to begin at 3:00pm on March. 21st at Third Hill Brewing, where winners will be announced!  Follow for coming details.

All submissions due by close of business, Mar. 7, 2026.

Winners celebration is Mar. 21, 3-5pm

Winners:

  • Grand Prize – Help brew your winning beer on THBC’s pro system, guest bartend at the release party and get some to take home! Plus, win a $50 THBC gift certificate and merch.
  • Second Place – $30 THBC gift certificate and merch.
  • Third Place – $20 THBC gift certificate and merch.

 

Entry Rules and Details:

  • Two (2) bottles (12 oz. preferred) per submission. No commercial labels on bottles.
  • No brett or wild yeast strains (kettle sours ok).
  • $5 entry fee per submission – Entry fees will be donated to support access to education through the Harvey-Wilder Foundation.
  • Entries can be dropped off at Third Hill Brewing (8216 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD)  by close of day Mar. 7.
  • Entry Forms and Fees
    • Drop off at Third Hill Brewing, cash, credit card, check or money order is accepted.
    • Please make checks or money orders out to Third Hill Brewing Co.
  • Must be homebrewed. No commercially brewed beer. Commercially made wort cannot be used.
  • Winners will be announced on Saturday, March 1. Winner does not need to be present to win.
  • Winning beer name is subject to approval- no obscene, offensive, etc. names will be used for THBC release.
  • Winner receives beer to take home.
  • 5 entries per person maximum.
  • Max 100 entries total.
